March Pack Meeting, The Reptile Man

Posted on Mar 17 2025 - 7:15am

Scouts and Adults were entertained by the Reptile Man at our March Pack Meeting.  How many Scouts does it take to hold an Anaconda? 5 big scouts or 6 little scouts  Yup, this was a hands on adventure for the scouts.  First off, hand sanitizer before touching any of our reptile visitors. This was to keep them free from kid germs.  Don't worry, hand sanitizer was used after as well.  One by one scouts got to pet turtles, geckos, iguanas and snakes. Plenty of photo opportunities for parents as well.  Good Scouting Fun!

Dinosaur Valley Campout Update March 7-9, 2025

Posted on Mar 10 2025 - 12:17pm

Campout Update as told by Wolf Den Leader Kelly Cooper

It was a memory maker!  Wolf Liam and I along with Wolf Alex and his dad Neal  arrived Friday afternoon, got camp set up, explored some and hit the sack around 10.  We decided to wait until Saturday morning to explore the dinosaur tracks (this was a poor decision).  I was a little apprehensive because it was supposed to rain and we didn’t have any cell service so I couldn’t check the weather.

SHOUT OUT: JACKALOPE EGG HUNT Service Project 3 8 25

Posted on Mar 9 2025 - 12:53pm

Are Jackalopes Real? Do they have eggs? No and No!  But Saturday 4 Scouts and 6 Parents helped collect golf balls at the Steiner Ranch Golf Course.  The Balcones Canyonlands Preserve is adjacent to the golf course driving range.  The Scouts learned about animals and birds that the preserve protects.  The service project was to collect as many golf balls that flew over the fence.  They were weighed and most balls per older scout or total weight for Packs was determined.  We didn't stay till the end but we will find out soon how we did.  Thanks to the Scouts and Parents that participated.
